All Kallisti marimbas are hand made from start to finish! The bars are made from padouk, an equatorial hardwood that has fantastic resonance and tunability. The resonator boxes are made form local hardwoods, such as maple, cherry and birch. The tuning is done to strict standards, monitored electronically, and checked for quality in the fundamentals and harmonics at every stage. The instruments are finished with lacquer for a durable easy to maintain glow.
